Biography:Edit

Sacred Heart was formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1985 and performed throughout the Mid West and East Coast thru 90's. Sacred Heart played original Power Metal music and is best remembered for their powerful Heavy Metal style and melodic sensibilities that fused the musical styles of Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Scorpions and Dokken. in 1989 Sacred Heart released the self funded EP "The Vision" that catapulted the band to instant recognition and sold out shows.

A hallmark sound for Sacred Heart was the dual twin lead guitar attack of Byron Nemeth & Mark Herholtz. This was accented by the pounding drums of Brian McIntyre and thundering bass of Ed Edwards along with the soaring vocals of Keith Van Tassel. Since the release of "The Vision" the EP has become a much sought after collators items on eBay and thru Heavy Metal circles around the world.

In 2012 PURE UNDERGROUND RECORDS / PURE STEEL RECORDS from Schwarzenberg, Germany will be Re-Releasing "The Vision" as a new CD release featuring all the original songs that were in this 1989 cassette. As an extra bonus this Re-Release CD will also feature the BNG (Byron Nemeth Group) 2010 EP and now will be a full length CD featuring 11 songs from SACRED HEART 1989 and BNG EP 2010 as a new 2012 release as "The Vision" 2012 CD.??Pure Steel Records will be releasing this at the mighty Keep-It-True Festival that happens every year on April 27th & 28th in Koenigshofen, Germany and is one of the biggest and most celebrated European Heavy Metal festivals in the world.

The analog tape transfer from the original 1989 Sacred Heart Master Tapes was done by industry guru Bruce Maddocks in Los Angeles, California on 01.16.12. Bruce has carved a reputation for being the “go to guy” when it comes to analog archival and restoration work. ??His attention to detail and perfection is recognized by the industry and it is well-known that any precious master is safe in his hands. Bruce's long list of studio credits include: The Hit Factory (NYC), The Record Plant, Paramount Pictures, Sony/Culver Studios, and now his own Mastering business Cups 'n Strings.
